ABOUT JIM

Jim has been a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator since 2003.
He was raised in North Miami and graduated from the University Of Georgia in 1983. Thereafter, he attended Mercer University Law School graduating in 1986 with a Juris Doctor degree. The same year he was admitted to practice law in Florida and Georgia.
Jim moved back to South Florida initially litigating civil liability and commercial cases. He began practicing exclusively in workers' compensation in 1990 representing injured workers as well as employers, carriers, and servicing agents until 2003 when he commenced mediating claims exclusively at The Center For Conflict Resolution in Miami until 2021.
Jim's forthright, affable, and empathetic demeanor have been qualities that have helped bring parties together for many years not only as a mediator but as a practicing attorney as well. He is persistent in seeking solutions that are in the best interests of all involved to bring disputes to an amicable conclusion. Having represented both sides in workers' compensation claims he has perspective on the issues and risks for each. He is also experienced in mediating labor/employment matters including retaliatory discharge, personal injury and other circuit/county civil matters. Jim‘s success rate over the more than 5,000 cases he has mediated is extremely high. He has earned the respect of numerous seasoned claimant and employer/carrier attorneys throughout the state.

CALENDAR
Scheduling Process: Upon review of the calendar, where you see a day part that has nothing there, it's open. For a time that says Res, note that it's reserved when you click on it . Same with the name of a city (I'm scheduled to appear in person).
Simply find an open date and time that works for both parties, email your choice to flaxmediationschedule@gmail.com or call/text 954-655-0865. I will get back to both sides very shortly to confirm the spot is yours and update the calendar accordingly.

If choosing a date where there is another mediation(s) scheduled, please request a time at least 3 hours before or after the one that's already set to help avoid mediations running into each other. I'm glad to set mediations starting as early as 8am and as late as 4pm.
Once confirmed, please email the Notice Of Mediation to jflax61@gmail.com.
